What exactly is the cloud, and why should you care?
Well, there is a natural occurrence in which clouds form with only two possible outcomes: rain or not.

Another cloud has formed, this time not naturally, but artificially or virtually connecting several computers, servers, and storage facilities.

Within these computer connections, one can use someone else's computer or storage over the internet to conduct all of the typical tasks that he could have done on his local computer setup, but more easily and efficiently. This is referred to as Cloud Computing.

Do you need to care about cloud computing?

Yes. Because it will make your digital life easier, and you will not have to break the money to build up an infrastructure for your tiny startup or even large and established companies, because payment is typically Pay-As-You-Go. It also allows you to upscale easily and quickly because all computer resources are available on demand.

Deployment Models

In cloud computing, there is a concept called as deployment models. It simply refers to how we save our data in the cloud. The data can be saved in a dedicated cloud space. This is commonly referred to as Private Cloud. This can be pricey and takes longer to set up, but it gives the user complete control over his data

On the other hand, the Public Cloud allows users to swiftly and affordably install data on shared storage supplied by cloud computing service providers.

Hybrid Cloud is the choice to use the first and second, that is Private and Public together.

Iaas, Paas and Saas.

You may hear something like IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. These are not sounds, but acronyms for the various Cloud Service Models. Simply put, cloud service companies supply these types of services.

  • Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) provides on-demand access to cloud-hosted real and virtual servers, storage, and networking. So you're merely employing computer hardware in the cloud to carry out your job.

  • PaaS (platform as a service) provides on-demand access to a cloud-hosted platform for application development, maintenance, and management.

  • SaaS, or software as a service, is on-demand access to ready-to-use, cloud-hosted application software. Like example Zoom for video conferencing and google docs

So next time you see or hear about the cloud, ask whether you need an umbrella or access to internet.
